The philosophy behind Foster Insures began long before the business had a name. Years ago, during a shared Uber ride, Jayevan (Founder and CEO of Foster Insures) spent the drive in conversation with a successful Canadian insurance advisor. They talked about life, family, work ethic, and what it truly means to show up for people. As they stepped out of the car, the advisor said something that stayed with him:

“The insurance industry needs people like you.”

That moment planted the seed for the values that would guide him through every step of his career.

Jayevan’s early years in the industry were spent selling group benefits to trades and labour-focused businesses, where he learned firsthand about the unique needs of people who work in physically demanding environments. It was there he saw how important it is for advisors to understand real-life risks, income protection challenges, and the importance of practical, easy-to-understand coverage. This experience shaped his ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and relatable way.

He later moved into a role as a Group Representative supporting top brokers across Canada, gaining deep technical knowledge in plan design, underwriting strategy, and employee benefits for organizations of all sizes.

From there, he became a Senior Advisor at a national brokerage, working directly with business owners to help them understand their risks and choose protection strategies aligned with their goals and values.

The Meaning Behind The Name

Foster Insures Reflects Both Personal Identity And Professional Promise.

“Foster” is Jayevan’s family name — a name connected to his reputation, his values, and the relationships he’s built in the community.

He paired it with the word Insures as a meaningful play on words.

It echoes the idea of “Foster ensures” — ensuring people feel supported, informed, and protected throughout some of life’s most important decisions.

It’s a promise built into the brand itself.

His years working alongside some of the top brokers in the country gave him a front-row seat to many different advising styles.
